“Lake Okareka” Afternoon
The painting captures the beautiful afternoon light quality typical to the ”Rotorua Lakes”. Bush clad hills are reminiscent of drapery with the folds and shadows rippling across the lake edge.
Old Cottage Okareka
This work evokes the memory many of us have of summer holidays at the lakeside cottage. Now many of these dwellings have been demolished to make way for the new. Those that are left are crumbling and nature is claiming them.
The Routeburn Track – Summer
Walking on the Routeburn Track a few summers ago, I came upon the glorious peaks of the Darran mountains. The clouds were moving swiftly and the light quality was stunning. I felt inspired and this work is the result.
